Support Horror on Patreon

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here.  I hate not updating this page more often, but I do have a good reason for it: money.  I’m broke, and unfortunately, the more time I spend writing posts for this site, making videos for YouTube, writing horror stories, and basically doing all the things I really want to do, I’m taking time away from those things which actually do put food on the table.

It sucks.  But I’ve always been honest about these things.  Take a look around my site.  There are no ads.  Not a single monetized portion.  The same goes for my YouTube channel: no ads.  And roughly 50% or more of my horror writing (75% if you count the articles I write here) has always been free.

Here’s where I beg for money, right?  This is the part of the game where the poor, starving artists shakes his empty coffee cup and asks for a handout.

Patreon Horror writing

Well, yes and no.  Here’s the deal.  There’s a new website called Patreon.  It’s a little bit like Kickstarter, but instead of giving one lump sum of money to fund a BIG project, you can offer smaller amounts on a monthly or “per story/video/etc” basis.

In other words, it’s a way for you to support artists so they can afford to create.  In my case, a handful of generous patrons would allow me to set aside more time for writing, making videos, and creating all the horror I love to create.

You can give as little or as much as you want.  Patrons who give more can choose from a number of great rewards like free books, signed gear, editing sessions, and so much more.  I even have “milestones,” that we can shoot for.

It’s all very exciting, but I need your help.  Please take a moment to watch my Patreon video, peruse the page, and take a look at the amazing rewards I offer.  This isn’t begging.  It isn’t a handout.  I’ll manage to continue writing no matter what.  But if you want to support what I do, here’s a way you can do that:   http://www.patreon.com/Rapino

Thank you so much.
