Greetings, psychopaths and ne’er-do-wells.
Today, I cordially invite you to become part of my newly established Schizo Squad. Stop by and simply “like” my page to become a member. But wait…what is this Schizo Squad, and why do you want to be part of it?
Here’s the deal. I just released a new ebook, Welcome to Moon Hill, and you know what comes next, right? I’ll start talking about contests where all you have to do is “like” this or “join” that. But let’s get real for a minute, shall we? You know what I’m really asking you to do, and I know you know. So let’s put all our cards on the table.
I’m a writer, and if at all possible, I’d like to someday, somehow, make a living doing this. For this to ever happen, I need to market and promote my work, and while I can do that all by my lonesome, it will be oh so much more effective and fun if my friends and fans could help.
Hence, the Schizo Squad. It’s my official author page. It’s my fan club. And by joining, you’re becoming part of the street team. The army of lunatics that will help me defeat all normalcy left in the universe by promoting weird, horrific fiction. It won’t only be about that. We’ll have some fun with this along the way.
While we’re being honest, how about you admit something as well. You want something in return for the help, don’t you? I don’t blame you. You’re helping me promote my work, and you deserve rewards!
For each “Challenge” I post for the Schizo Squad, there will be prizes and rewards. By becoming part of the team early on, you’ll also gain “asylum points” towards the HUGE PRIZE PACK which I will announce later this week. The challenges will be ongoing. There will be multiple prizes to win. And the more you participate, the better your chances will be.
The first challenge is called “The Funny Face Challenge” and it’s simple!
- Post on Facebook the weirdest, craziest, funniest picture of your face (or a friend’s face) that you can find (or take a new picture now!).
- Tag the Schizo Squad in the photo.
- Post on the official “Funny Face Challege post” on the Schizo Squad page to confirm that you entered.
- The winner will be chosen randomly and will receive a free copy of Welcome to Moon Hill. (Don’t worry, the prizes will get bigger and better as we go). The contest will run till Sunday morning.
Sounds like fun, right? Help me to make the world a weirder place, one funny face at a time!
The tribe in my head says we can’t show our true face. A friends maybe…but we don’t do this whole Facebook thingy you talk about. Schizo’s Unite! (Hugs)Indy
Yeah, as I was writing the rules, it occurred to me not everyone would be comfortable with a “funny face” picture, hence the “friend” rule! 😉
I am more than happy to spread the word about your book.
It is a super read. But, I don’t know if I’ll go the funny face route. The funniest face picture I have of me involves a horned viking helmet and a tuba. I’m not kidding.
🙂 This particular challenge wasn’t so much for promotion of the book as it was just for a laugh. But I have to say, the tuba picture sounds great! And I’m sooo glad you liked the book. You finished already!? 🙂
I did! I honestly didn’t want to put it down. Really super job.
Maybe I’ll see if I can find the tuba picture…
Wow, thank you! That really means a lot to me. 🙂
I don’t do funny faces…well, let me rephrase…I don’t post pictures of my funny faces. 😉 I did post a pic of my daughter though to my Facebook. It wouldn’t let me tag the actual photo but I tagged you in the status. Hope it counts…if not, at least it was fun 😉
Sure it counts! Thanks for entering. I’m thinking (based on the turn out so far) that most people aren’t into posting weird pics on themselves. Who knew. :-p
